Continuing to promote Wii across the world, Nintendo made a presentation of the next gen console in Spain, during which they revealed a few more details concerning the Virtual Console.
Originally reported by Spanish website, Vandel.net, Nico Wegnez stated that Nintendo of Spain was currently considering a new method for purchasing games online via the Wii in the form of pre-paid Virtual Console download cards. While the Nintendo of Spain Marketing Director emphasised that the development of such a system was still in a preliminary state and was only one of many ideas Nintendo had for its Virtual Console service.
This system would allow Wii consumers to cash in on pre-paid points as an alternative to paying via credit card, similar to Microsoft’s Xbox 360 points cards. While this system is working well for Bill Gates so far, it’s unclear whether or not other branches will implement such a system, or if it will be restricted to sunny Spain.
