Wii News Channel Now Functioning

Some sites are reporting this earlier-than-expected launch of the Wii News Channel. Though there is no official press release available at this time. I just caught glimpse of the blue luminescent glow of the disc tray myself; indicating that some sort of vital update or message via Nintendo was being relayed to me. WiiConnect24 is proving to be a nice little utility for times like these it seems.

Hopefully the News Channel proves to be more consistently updated than the Weather Channel is. Reports from 12 hours ago? I was sleeping then, what do I care about nocturnal weather conditions?
