THQ today announced that three of its holiday releases topped the sales charts for the month of November, driving THQ’s sales up 26% over the prior-year period and securing its position as the #3 ranked independent videogame software publisher for the month with an 8.4% market share, according to The NPD Group, Inc.
The cross platform release of The Incredibles, based on the Walt Disney Pictures presentation of a Pixar Animation Studios film, the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system release of WWE SmackDown vs Raw! and the cross platform release of Nickelodeon’s The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie ranked as the #5, 6 and 7 top titles for the month, according to NPD.
“To have three top ten brands during the most competitive holiday season in videogame history, including the #5 title overall with SmackDown and the #1 title on the Game Boy Advance with The Incredibles, is tremendous,” said Brian Farrell, president and CEO, THQ. “This level of success is a testament to the talented members of our product development and publishing teams.”
