You’ve heard right. The once GameCube title was pushed to Wii, and remained dormant for a rather long period of time. At least, publicly. The latest issue of Nintendo Power has a brief article stating that it is due for an April release, with upgraded graphics to boot. But, honestly, just how improved can the “paper” themed visuals get?
Nintendo Power reported that the game will use the retro control scheme of holding the Wii remote sideways. Utilizing the A+B buttons and d-pad primarily to control the game. Sounds like classic NES gaming goodness to me. One last tidbit of information, the Wii remote can be pointed at the screen to see further information regarding enemies; as well as search areas for hidden doors. It’s likely a good idea to keep a game such as Super Paper Mario simple, as adding unnecessary controls would prove cumbersome and unenjoyable.
In any case, the Wii Q1 release list just got a lot more exciting.
