Nintendo held a meeting today and it revealed a few interesting new details for both the DS and the Wii. First off were new statistics for sales of Nintendo DS games. 10 Nintendo DS games sold over a million copies in Japan which is incredible when you consider that’s in Japan only.
As for statistics, we learned that 32% of DS owners bought Animal Crossing, 23% Mario Kart, 14% Tetris and 20% New Super Mario Bros. Please remember that these are for Japan only and do not represent the rest of the world.
For those who wanted to get their hands on the web browser, you will have to wait until July as it has been delayed for a month. Also, the DS TV Tuner wii be released this fall and will cost approximately half of the price of the Nintendo DS.
A few new details about the Wii were also reveealed. Nintendo plans to ship 4 million by the end of the year worldwide. It has also been revealed that the Wii can be used as a DS download station for demos of games, and you can use the Wii to expand DS games as well as use the DS as a touch-screen controller for the console.
And finally, Nintendo has revealed a new Pokémon game for Wii called Pokémon Battle Revolution and it will link up with the DS Pokémon games. Pokémon Pearl and Diamond will also support voicechat over wifi.
