Nintendo has revealed a camera peripheral for the DS and plans to bundle it with a new Touch Generations title, Face Training.
According to reports across the internet, the camera is designed to plug into the DS's GBA slot and will include a stand, enabling DS owners to prop their handheld up without the need to hold it.
Otona no DS Kao Training, or Face Training for those of us who speak English, exercises the muscles in players' faces, making them younger by pulling different faces when prompted. It is expected to arrive in Japan on August 2.

We've been waiting for this since the DS was announced. In fact, we've been waiting for this since the GBA was announced. The original Game Boy camera was hugely popular, despite its lack of game interaction and fuzzy black and white visuals. As soon the Game Boy Advance was announced, the world held its breath for an update and whispers of a Game Eye emerged.
Almost a decade on, we finally get a handheld camera, which will no doubt be branded a knee-jerk reaction to the PSP camera.
I don't mean to sound overly negative; the prospect of a handheld camera does sound fun, but why has it taken so long?
Now that it's here, we need to see some good uses of it. How about slapping our faces onto our Miis, or using them in other games? How about the ability to send photos to other people via the DS Opera Browser?
As for Face Training, I think they're taking the Training series a little too far now. If Nintendo started working on some actual games, we might be able to expand the casual gamer's abilities.
Still, squinting and sticking your tongue out at a handheld while on the train has got to be less embarassing that shouting "Blue! Black! Yellow!"
