Guitar Hero Wii Bound?

Wii remote inspired guitar slaying may just be happening in the future. Or so Activision’s CEO, Mike Griffiths claimed during yesterday’s financial results conference call. Mike Griffiths was quoted as saying, “The key difference in our strategy versus the prior cycle, is that in addition to full support on Sony and Microsoft platforms, we will aggressively target the Nintendo platforms consistent with our multi-platform strategy and Nintendo’s expected growth. In fiscal 2008, we will double our offerings on the DS and the Wii, including Spider-Man, Shrek, Transformers, and Guitar Hero.”

The equivocal statement doesn’t clarify just which platform(s) Guitar Hero is headed to. Both Wii and Nintendo DS seem suited for the franchise, so it’s reasonable to assume one or both will have the title. 2008 though, that’s a bit far off. You might be better off picking up the upcoming Xbox 360 Guitar Hero package in the meantime. Or, of course, the original and/or sequel for PS2.
