The rundown on the latest Nintendo Revolution rumors covering everything from its graphics to its mysterious controller.
Rumor #1 - The owner of http://nintendo-revolution.blogspot.com/ posted two interviews that mysteriously vanished days later. Yuji Naka, the creator of Sonic, was quoted as saying: "I am under a strict NDA, so I can't really say much. But I have seen the Revolution and I think everyone will be very pleasantly surprised, when Nintendo reveal everything." Peter Molyneux, creator of Black and White, was also interviewed and had the following to say: "There is a line at the end of the book 'Game Over' and it is: 'Never underestimate Nintendo'. That is all I can say about the controller."
Some doubt the two interviews took place (since they were taken down days later), while others say he may have been forced to take down the interviews by RTL (the German station which he allegedly works for).

Rumor #2 - Matt Casamassina of IGNcube.com claims that Revolution info is coming "shortly after the Leipzig Games Convention...it could be a day or a week, but I don't expect it will be much longer". Matt later further expanded on his comments said that he was told Revolution info was coming "very soon", which he describes as a "pretty relative description". All in all, Matt says the worst-case scenario would be mid-September, closer to the Tokyo Game Show.
Rumor #3 - One of the largest growing rumors now circulating involves the Revolution's graphical abilities. Many suggest that Nintendo will no longer be working with Polygons and will instead be using cube-mapping (NURBS) for the console's graphics. Although the technology is nothing new, it's the fact that its never before been applied to video games that has some theorists getting excited.
Many are speculating that although Nintendo's hardware will be underpowered compared to the competition, the application of cube-mapping will be the secret that'll make its visuals stand up to that of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It's not known for certain where exactly this rumor started, but it's said to have been first seen on the forum of a French gaming site that isn't very well known.

Rumor #4 - What about the controller you ask? The internet publication, Computer Games Magazine, claims it has the answer to the mystery. They state that the new controller will "provide resistance to being tilted". The concept seems very simple, but they warn you not to underestimate this idea, as they believe it might become standard in future controllers:
I feel really awful about last week, so to make up for it here's something really good: enough with the fake 3D Studio-rendered Nintendo Revolution controllers– enough. Here's the scoop on what the big deal is.
It's revolutionary in the same two senses that controller rumble is/was revolutionary: first, it's kind of actually not a huge deal, but controllers will eventually all have it because it is pretty neat; and second, it involves revolving. Simply, the Revolution controller will provide resistance to being tilted. No doubt this is done by some application of a tilt sensor such as the one in WarioWare: Twisted combined with rumble technology.
After all, rumble is just done by some off-balance widgets inside the controller spinning really fast. If they were balanced, they could provide enough rotational inertia– the same thing that makes bikes and motorcycles harder to tilt the faster they're going– to perform this trick.
The "could" is why Nintendo hasn't come out with it yet. Yeah, they say they don't want it to be copied, which is valid because I'm sure it will be, just not anytime soon. What's really happening is Nintendo is trying to make this work with wireless controllers, finding the optimal tradeoff between spinning the widgets fast enough to produce a good, strong effect and keeping the controller from eating batteries too quickly. Oh, and it has to be cheap and reliable, too.
Why this isn't just another Revolution rumor: I'm hurt, I really am. You think I would do that to you? Well, even if you don't believe me this time, I'm betting you will in the future. So there.
