StarCraft: Ghost Now Literally a "Ghost"

GameCube News

It was confirmed this week that Blizzard, the makers of the popular PC franchise StarCraft, has cancelled the GameCube version of Ghost.

This does come as quite a shock to the Nintendo community, as the game has been delayed several times, having us think it would just be better and better. From the day it was announced until now, the whole concept had been evolving.

A spokesman from Blizzard states the main reason for the cancellation is not due to bias against Nintendo. Instead, because Nintendo doesn't have a consistent and reliable online service, they were forced to can the project. Apparently the final version of the console game needs access to online resources because that is an aspect of Ghost that Blizzard is pushing hard.

This does come as a pretty harsh blow to GameCube owners since the announcement comes so late in the game's development, but there isn't much we can do now. So those of you with a PS2 or XBox, you will still be treated to the next StarCraft game from Blizzard.
