Apparently Climax Group will be presenting a game being made for the next-generation of consoles really soon. While it hasn't been anounced yet on what systems it will be released we know that it's going to be playable online so let's hope that Nintendo decided to go online next-gen so that we get the chance to play this game too.
Also being shown is Climax Group's toolset called Tomcat which is supposed to help developers really push next-generation hardware to get great performances and have really nice graphics.
Los Angeles, Calif., November 3rd, 2004–Climax Group, one of the world's most ambitious and progressive independent video game developers, forges ahead with its next generation game - Avalon, a multi-vehicle shooter with a unique and original twist. Major publishers will soon discover Avalon's uniqueness as Climax presents its fully playable prototype to a select group of eagerly awaiting executives throughout the U.S. Taking advantage of the next generation consoles' advanced multiplayer capabilities, Avalon is a game, truly epic in scale that will allow gamers to come together online for spectacular showdowns.
Set in the near future, this stunningly original title is a fast-paced, action-charged game that challenges players to battle for world domination. At its heart lies a compelling mixture of intense shooting and high-speed driving action, all of which is wrapped up in some of the most stunning graphics ever!
"Climax's ability to self-fund the prototype has produced huge strides in development which has allowed Avalon to be fully playable before the game is even presented to publishers", states Tony Beckwith, president, Climax.
Avalon is being designed and developed by some of the brightest minds in the industry, who are focussed on delivering a next generation game for next generation hardware. In just the first few months of development, the Climax team has clearly proven its success with the impressive results shown thus far.
Enhancing the superior technology of the next generation consoles and the power of the engine, this impressive new game is supported by the company's innovative toolset named, "Tomcat". Tomcat and its associated renderer technology are truly next gen. Built from a stable platform that has been proven in several games, Climax has invested heavily in proprietary next generation tools to produce content quickly and with excellent quality.
To be a part of this exciting opportunity and to witness the groundbreaking game in action please contact Jason Avent, Game Director for Avalon at 44 (0) 1273 740 805 or Javent@climaxgroup.com.
