Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 2005 has officially gone gold and will ship on September 20 for the PlayStation 2 console, Xbox entertainment system, Nintendo GameCube and PC.
Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 2005 will offer gamers the chance of a lifetime in Legends Pursuit, as they try to join golf's greatest players and become a legend. Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 2005 also offers players the chance to experience the real-life phenomenon known as Tiger Proofing, where players will act as golf course superintendents and alter the courses in the game to build the most competitive Dream 18-hole course imaginable.
In Legends Pursuit, gamers will use the advanced GameFace II technology to create an ultra-detailed character (aged 8 to 80), then will unlock the chance to tee off against some of golf's greatest legends including Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Ben Hogan as they progress through the game. Only when gamers beat Tiger Woods himself though, will gamers become a golf legend. In the quest for legendary status, Tiger Proofing will allow gamers the ability to alter the courses in the game, including the width and patterns on fairways and greens, the depth of bunkers and rough and even the color of the leaves on the trees. The ultimate objective is to create your dream 18 with a combination of your favorite holes from the courses in the game; increasing course difficulty with money you earn on the Legends Tour building a prestige rating that will attract PGA TOUR Pros and legends to challenge you on your course.
Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 2005 has eight new licensed courses including Edgewood Country Club, Sherwood Country Club, Fancourt Golf Club Estate, and Troon North – Monument Course and the ability to compete as or against 15 different PGA TOUR players including Tiger Woods, US Open champion Retief Goosen, PGA Champion Vijay Singh, and 14 new fantasy characters.
Developed by EA Redwood Shores, the game is rated "E" (Everyone) by the ESRB and has an MSRP of $49.95 for the PlayStation 2 console, Xbox, and Nintendo GameCube; $39.95 for PC. The game's official website is www.tigerwoods2005.com. Assets for the game can be found at the EA PR web site, http://www.info.ea.com/products/title.php?id=387
