More Collaborations On The Way?

News

In a french newspaper, Nintendo's president Satoru Iwata stated that they weren't really interested in buying more companies and that collaborations were more profitable.

Iwata went on to say that buying other developers requires huge amounts of money and isn't always profitable. With so much creativity in the gaming industry, having collaborations with many developers at the same time would be a better decision.

Seeing that Nintendo has had successful collaborations on the GameCube like Sega's F-Zero GX, Namco's Star Fox and Donkey Konga, and Kuju's Advance Wars, this may be a good thing. Others, like Microsoft, seem more interested in buying developers to get more exclusive titles.

According to IGN, more collaborations with smaller developers are currently underway.
