It's important not to forget that The Legend of Zelda remains one of Nintendo's finest franchises, with 12 titles selling more than 42 million units. Although the future is difficult to foresee, it's almost a foregone conclusion that with its quality game play and dazzling visual effects, The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures will rank foremost among summer video game titles.

Link forever demonstrates courage, his forte, while venturing forth into dungeons and danger. In The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures, the first multiplayer Zelda for Nintendo GameCube, he'll have a little company. The power of the Four Sword splits Link, the ultimate model of fortitude and forbearance, into four different-colored versions of himself.

The four Links foray into a foreign and forbidden land to battle formidable enemies and forage for Force Gems. Initially they must forswear their individual aims and battle in formation to fortify their defenses against a multitude of adversaries by forging an alliance to solve puzzles and defeat enemies. But be forewarned: Once opponents have been vanquished, players may forgo their formal alliances and forsake the team as they scramble to collect the most fortune.

The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures, Rated E for Everyone, launches June 7 at an MSRP of $49.99.
