Compact Pouch DS Review

Nintendo DS Special Posted by Marc-André Sarrazin

If you are one of the millions of people who have bought a Nintendo DS, you are probably looking for a way to protect it right about now. Even though its clamshell design protects the most important aspects of the system, everyone likes to keep their videogame consoles in good condition to make sure they last a very long time.

I've done research trying to find the best way to protect my Nintendo DS, as well as making it easier to bring it with me everywhere I go. Having bought a few Hori accessories in the past I figured I could trust them, so I chose to go with their pouch. If you are wondering where you can find it, it's being sold at all of the big import stores (it hasn't been released outside of Japan).

First thing you'll notice is how great it looks. It comes in various colors so you can pick one that suits your style. I decided to buy the pink one because I like cute stuff and because I am thinking about getting either the pink or white DS and thought the colors would match!

Besides its good looks, it seems to be well made and should be able to resist the test of time quite well. It is also quite small, just a little bit bigger than the DS itself so it doesn't take too much space. I can fit it in my pockets (when using my very large jeans of course) but if you don't have any place you can also attach it to your belt even though it won't look too good because it's considerably bigger than a cell phone. The best way to transport it is to put it in your backpack or use the clip to attach it to it so you have a better access to your DS. The pouch seems like it can resist water to a certain extent with the only downside being that it doesn't seem to have any foam in it or anything that could protect the DS if it falls to the ground.

Inside the pouch you have two pockets for your DS games and a big one where you can put either DS accessories like the charger or GBA games. You can even put more DS games if you'd like! The pocket is about the size of two GBA carts so it isn't that big, but that's why it's called a compact pouch. You then have just enough space left to fit your DS in and then zip it.

The thing is quite convenient for people who are going on a trip and want to bring their favorite handheld with them along with a few games so they have enough stuff to last a few days. It doesn't cost too much, it looks good, it's made by a famous Japanese company and it's been built to last at least until Nintendo's next handheld comes out. If you are looking for the perfect pouch for your DS, this is it!
